This is a three bedroom residential home on a large rural property in the Kangaroo Valley. The house was designed to be completely self sufficient and achieve a high green rating. A straw bale construction helps with insulation in winter, whilst the interiors can be opened up in summer to allow for natural ventilation. Energy is drawn from solar power and a turbine in the stream nearby, whilst a hydronic heating system is also in place. All the timber has been cut from trees on-site to minimise it’s environmental foot print.
